How can I get from one place to another?

Public Transportation: SMTC operates both the subway and the bus in downtown Montreal. Metro & Bus: Metro tickets are sold at most metro stations. We suggest purchasing a daily pass unless you plan to do a ton of walking or riding the bus a good deal. You can buy a ticket that will allow you to ride the subway or buses around the city for one day.

If you only plan to ride the subway, it will cost you $3.25 to ride the subway for a few minutes. You can buy 10 tickets for $27.50. You could get a good deal by buying a cheap set of metro tickets ($12) that allows you to ride the metro or bus system unlimited times. If you're traveling a lot, you may want to get a Metro card or an Ops card to use for subway and bus rides. Opus cards are available for purchase for only $6 each, and you are able to load the cards with cash or Montreal Metro passes.

Cash-value cards work just like reloadable debit cards; they allow riders to pay fares for their rides using money that they have saved up.
