You might want to buy ten tickets, since some stations sell them for just $27.50 each. If you want to ride the STC a lot, you might want to get a smartcard that allows you to buy tickets for unlimited rides. Opus cards are available for purchase for only $6 each, and you are able to load the cards with cash or Montreal Metro passes.

Cash values work just like reloadable debit cards - just put some money in the slot on the back of your bus ticket and start riding. When you plan on using the metro or bus a lot, we strongly suggest getting a card that has passes on it, rather than using cash to buy the fares. Opus cards are reloadable with cash value or with season passes to ride on the STM subway and buses for a very low price.

Montreal has several highway connections that allow you to easily travel around the city and to neighboring provinces. You can reach Montreal easily by taking the 401 in Ontario, or the 20 in New Brunswick/N.

Those coming directly from other provinces can use Highway 4 to get to Montreal, and from there, you can drive to the city of Quebec City! Highway 156 runs north-southern along the shores of the Saint Lawrence River (or the RR) in the city's northeast corner.
