When you plan on using the metro or bus a lot, we strongly suggest getting a card that has passes on it, rather than using cash to buy the fares. Opus cards cost $6 each, and you pay either with cash or with passes to ride for the day.

Passes that are valid for 7 days allow riders to travel anywhere they want to go! Those passes are especially handy if you are going to do a bunch of things! If your stay in Montreal is more than just a week, don't be worried - as long as it's over for 31 days, the fares will be just as cheap.

Montreal has some great highways, connecting it with the rest of the province and the rest of Canada. You'll find that driving through Ontario is the easiest way for you to travel to Quebec City. You can get there by taking either Highway 301 or 20 (whichever route you choose) if you live in New Brunswick/New Jersey.

From Quebec City, you can get to Montreal by taking Highway 20 through the city and into Quebec City. Highways 15 and 16 take you along the main roads of Quebec City.
