You could even buy ten tickets to ride the metro for just $27.50 (or, the bus)! You might be able to get a SIM card (or maybe a rechargeable smart-card) to help you travel with the SSM. Opus cards are really nice and you pay for them with money or with points.

Cash values work just like putting money in your bank account and then paying the corresponding fare each time that your transit passes by. When you plan on using the metro or bus a lot, we strongly suggest getting a card that has passes on it, rather than using cash to buy the fares. Opus cards cost $6 each, and you pay either with cash or with passes to ride for the day.

Some transit cards let you ride the metro or the bus as often as it's convenient for you. This is great if you plan to do a whole lot if you stay here. If it's something that will be fun to spend a whole weekend in Montreal, get en route to the city in just one day and use the bus or metro again for another day. It will cost just $8 to buy a 31-ride transit pass.

Montreal has some great highways, connecting it with the rest of the province and the rest of Canada. It's best to drive from Quebec or New Brunswick to Mont-Royal by taking the 401 to York (or the 20 to Saint John).

If you've driven from outside Quebec, you can take Highway 14 through Mont-Royal to get to Montreal (and even to Quebec City!). From there, it's easy to drive to several other cities in Quebec, but it's easier to get to Montreal by bus!
