If there are many times that you will be traveling by public transit, you should get an Ops card that offers you unlimited fares. Opus cards let you buy prepaid travel passes that allow you to use all the public transport in Montreal for a single price. These are available in three different packs of $3, $19, and $26.

The pass can be loaded with as many city tours as your heart desires! If your stay in Montreal is more than just a week, don't be worried - as long as it's over for 31 days, the fares will be just as cheap.

Montreal has several highway connections with other areas in Quebec, as well as other Canadian provinces. If you've driven from an Ontario province, you'll want to take the Highway 301 or 20 (or other major routes) to drive to the city.

If you've driven from outside Quebec, you can take Highway 14 through Mont-Royal to get to Montreal (and even to Quebec City!). From there, it's easy to drive to several other cities in Quebec, but it's easier to get to Montreal by bus! Highways 15 and 15A run north-southed, allowing you to connect to many cities in Canada.
