Cash-value cards work just like reloadable debit cards; they allow riders to pay fares for their rides using money that they have saved up. If there are many times that you will be traveling by public transit, you should get an Ops card that offers you unlimited fares. You will need to pay for a day of unlimited rides to get around Montreal. These cards are prepaid and you pay with cash or cards that are prepaid.

Montreal has several major highways linking it with the rest of Canada and Quebec. If you've driven from an area other than Quebec or New Brunswick, the highway to reach Montreal will be the 401 in Ontario and the 20 in New Brunswick.

From Quebec City, you can get to Montreal by taking Highway 20 through the city and into Quebec City. Highway 156 runs north-southern along the shores of the Saint Lawrence River (or the RR) in the city's northeast corner.
